Visiting Us By Air

Limerick Flying Club offers both a relaxed and collegial atmosphere, while also conveniently within walking distance of Limerick City. We just require a simple PPR to let us know you are coming. PPR must be requested by completing the form at the bottom of this page.

Pilots should always refer to the official  AIP information (airnav.ie) for flight planning before visiting EICN.

Local Procedures & other information

  • Circuit height is 800ft QFE.
  • All circuits are to the south of the airfield.
  • Base turns for 09 and downwind turns for 27 are made outside the cement factory.
  • When joining the circuit, an overhead join is preferred at a height of 1000ft, taking care not to enter the Shannon CTR upon arrival.
  • Please call Coonagh Radio on 129.900 at least 10 mins out from the airfield.
  • Please note that P9, Limerick Prison prohibited area, is not to be encroached at any time.
  • Please be aware of proximity to UHL and medivac helicopter operations. (3km South of field)
  • Local quarry blasting activity every Thursday at 15:00 Local, at cement factory south of airfield. See AIP for NOTAM.
  • 40M construction crane currently erected ~1nm north east of the runway (Between Tesco and Na Piarsaigh GAA). Expected to be in place for approx 20 weeks from June 1st.

Please Note: There are no fire and rescue services if the airfield is unattended. 

For pilots visiting from outside of the Republic of Ireland the PIC must complete a GAR FORM and submit it to Irish Customs.
