Weather & Various links

If anybody finds a nice link which should be included please contact our web co-ordinator

Weather

* Avbrief

Primarily for the private pilot who wants good pre-flight weather.  Official aviation briefing information with TAF METAR Form 214 and Form 215 for free.  A fee is payable for quite a lot of the stuff, including Airfield Information section.  (This information is official at least in the UK, but we had objections from IAA examiners about its use in the Republic of Ireland, just to let you know)!  You will have to register when you first visit, but that is free and I am not aware of any follow-up hassle.
*
British Met Office

This is the aviation section of an excellent site.  You must register the first time you arrive, but that is free.  Most of the services are free and are official aviation data (at least in the UK), enjoy.  Maybe you could persuade the IAA examiner that you are a British football supporter or something, and thus entitled to use this site data!
* PHD Aviation
  This is a dutch weather site Maurice discovered lately - very good, especially for latest vis & IR satellite views.
* Dundee Satellite
  For the latest in Satellite images/ Thumbnails and search by area.
* WXSupport
  A new weather site that provides free info as well as a fee based sms text service.
* Weatherweb

A site suggested by Todays Pilot  Magazine, thanks Colm.  Information may not be for official avaition use.

Aviation Shopping

* Transair Aviation

Miscellaneous

* Flying in Ireland, by Mark Dwyer

This is an excellent site which has information and links on anything that is of interest.
* Shannon Airport Enthusiasists, by Colm Fitzgerald

This is a good site which presents a considerable amount of information and links to many interesting aviation matters.  It has a special bias towards information and flying activities in the West of Ireland.
* Irish Air Accident Investigation Website
* Flight Plan Preparation
* Coonagh Airfield Poem By Joe Hennessy
* Recreational Licence
* Aviation Society of Ireland
* Hang-Out
* Todays Pilot Magazine
* Aviation News and Magazine
*
One      Two      Three

Three nice sites with pics etc. which have been suggested by one of our young members.  Be careful, as they seem fairly highly salespitch.  Only become a member at your own discretion, I am not recommending either way.  Also they seem to have little "side shows" that may interest some of our younger men, and maybe the not so young!

Clubs & Airfields

* Connaught AeroClub
* Belfast Flying Club
* Sligo AeroClub
* Weston Airport
