It is beginning to appear that this project has stopped.
The machine is in Thailand for some months now and there
seems to be a problem with the certification of the repair
and to make matters worse the monsoon season is now in
full swing in that part of the world. This means heavy
rains and some interesting thunderstorms and CB activity
which would make flying an autogyro rather precarious to
say the least.
The blog link on the origional posting is still active but
the last update has been on the 29th June and at that time
there was no fixed time set for departure for any further flights
further east and then onward to Europe via the Pacific ring.
The blog link is still available but it would appear that the
project probably has been abandoned without comment. In any
case how long can a private individual remain in Thailand
paying for everything and without any real prospect of a
departure date? The man must live in hope I suppose, but I
hope he will formally advise us if the project has been
abandoned so that we can think about other things.
Cheers, Sean.
